Registered Charity
In May 2006, Keys To Success Partnership became a registered Charity.  We are a constituted charity and our two main charitable objectives are:

  • To promote education and learning to children, young people and their families living in or attending education in Nottingham City.
  • To promote and protect the good health, safety and welfare of children, young people and their families living in or attending education in Nottingham City.

We are a small charity that is passionate about helping to increase the opportunities and life chances of children, young people and families within our community. Our Trustees are Headteachers from schools within the Bilborough area of Nottingham City.

Context
National statistics state that a large percentage of our children, young people and families within the west area of Nottingham City are amongst the most deprived within the Country, based on the Indices of Deprivation, and that some of our families are amongst the top 1% in terms of multiple deprivation (health, education, employment, crime and housing).

Whilst educational attainment is below City and National Averages, it is improving across all the key stages and the gap is narrowing at GCSE level with 33% achieving 5A*-C grades in 2007. Over two thirds of young people leaving school progress into further education or employment with training, but we still have a number of young people leaving school not in any form of education, training or employment.

Bilborough is part of Nottingham North which has the lowest number of students progressing into higher education. Our Aspire programme details some of the work we are doing to raise expectations and aspriations of further and higher education.
